Uterine fibroid embolization (UFE) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat fibroid tumors of the uterus which can cause heavy menstrual bleeding, pain, and pressure on the bladder or bowel. It uses a form of real-time x-ray called fluoroscopy to guide the delivery of embolic agents to the uterus and fibroids.
Varicose veins are enlarged, twisted and rough veins that commonly appear in the legs and feet. For many people, there are no symptoms that occur; however, for some people, varicose veins can cause aches, swelling, burning, discomfort, itching, and cramping. Treatment involves compression stockings, some exercise, and minimally invasive vein procedures to close or remove the veins.
